Possible collision objects

  • Meteoroid: A space rock traveling through space
  • Meteor: A meteoroid that enters the Earth's atmosphere and starts to burn. Also known as a shooting/falling star.
  • Asteroid: Bigger than a Meteoroid. Between the size of a Meteoroid and a planet. A big space rock that could destroy a planet should they ever collide.
  • Comet: Made of ice, dust, gas and some rocks ("dirty snowballs"). Has a tail of gas that lights up when it gets near the sun.

Material description

  • Dense: Compact
  • Permeable/Porous: Has many small holes through which liquid/air can go through E.g. Permeable to water or porous rock
  • Constituent: Ingredient/component E.g. The main constituents are sugary greens.
  • Fiber: Thin strand
  • Raw: In its natural state E.g. raw materials
  • Debris: Something that was destroyed and the rubble now floats around in space. Accumulation of loose rock fragments.
