Examples

  • Either/or: I'd like to have either the chicken or the cornish pie.
  • Neighter/nor: Neither Conan nor I will attend the ceremony.
  • Whether/or: I was not sure whether you wanted dessert or not.
  • Not only/but also: I'm not only tired but also sick.
  • As/as: Joking around with him isn't as entertaining as listening to his tails.
  • Such/that - Such was their relationship that they never would have dated.
  • Rather/than: I'd rather shave my head than eat that.
  • Scarcely/when - I had scarcely sat down the phone when it rang again.
  • No sooner/than (something happens immediately after something else) - I’d no sooner arrived without an umbrella than it started raining.
